Spoiled

Deb took all of these pictures, and they turned out great. Some nights I feel so spoiled to live so close to so much of God's beautiful world.  It's easy to see why property values near the water are so expensive.

A few more flowers

The tulips and other flowers are finally starting to come out around here. The weather has warmed up a little bit, and we've had a little bit of sun (although we have set the modern record for coldest April in Washington).

Red Flowers

I have had a hard time getting good photos of Red flowers. The color just doesn't seem to photograph well.  I came upon this link and I think that it has really helped.
Basically I need to under expose the photos (because when red is over exposed even a touch it gets blown out and looks bad).  Then in photoshop I lighten the photo and am able to do that without over exposing the red.
The first tulip here is overexposed just a touch, then the second is under exposed, than the last one is exposed properly (after some re-touching).

The red here is still a little over exposed and looses some detail toward the bottom of the flowers.

Beautiful Morning Walk

Today I went for a beautiful morning walk. More pictures to come, but it was a nice morning for a walk, its supposed to be the first 60 degree day here in April.  Took a while, but when it comes, it always seems worth it.  The only complaint is that after a few sunny (but cool) days the mountains don't look as good, because it gets a little hazy.  But, I will take the nice days.  :)

This was all the wider my camera would get.  But I love how still it is.

Deb's Spring Flower Pictures

The weather finally seems to be turning nice, Deb went out the other day and took some pictures of the flowers around. I think they turned out pretty well.

More Spring Flowers

Deb and I went for a walk and she took these pictures on our way to the Ferry Dock here in Edmonds. So nice for the sun to be out.

Not sure what type of flower this is

Or this one.

Spring Tulips

Earlier this week I noticed the tulips were out in my neighborhood, so I took some pictures. Hope you enjoy them. So nice for the sun to come out this weekend for a little bit.

Lake Crescent

On our weekend away when we went to Marymere falls we passed by and parked along Lake Crescent. It is a beautiful blue lake. The road along the side of it is really curvy and slow, but well worth it.

I think the duck is looking for some food.

Just a beautiful color

The Visitor Center, its not burning, its just steam coming off the roof.

Fun Run

In a few weeks Deb and I will be participating in World Concern's Free them 5k run to raise money to help fight Human Trafficking.  If you want to join us or donate to our cause you can do that here.  My goal is to come within 5 minutes of Deb at the finish line.  Hopefully she can't run it twice by the time I finish.

to loose the chains of injustice
and untie the cords of the yoke,
to set the oppressed free
   and break every yoke? "

What I've been working on

Just found out about Redbubble.com
Seems like a great tool and website for photographers.  They allow me to upload photos to my account and give me a store front.  From which I can point other people to, where they can buy my photos.  I get a kickback and everyone is happy. Check out my redbubble site.

Also, I happen to have recently graduated from the University of Washington and am looking for a job that will let me start my career.  So, I have set up a blog to showcase what I've done to this point in my life.  So if you want to see what I've been up to or give me some feedback that would be great.  Check it out.

Sea Cliff Gardens

Here are a few shots of the grounds at the B&B we stayed at.  You can see more photos at (http://www.seacliffgardens.com/).  We loved our stay and it was so fabulous. I don't get any kickback if you stay there.  But we loved it.  Every detail was taken care of and well thought out.  Nothing was overlooked, it was fantastic.  When we go back to the Olympic Peninsula we will stay here again.

Owl and Eagles

On our hike to the water falls we saw this little owl, don't know if it is a baby or a full grown small owl.  But it was pretty cool. Just sitting there on the branch looking at us as we walked by it.

After the hike we went back to our B&B and the eagles were out soaring.  They soared for well over a half hour as the sun was setting.  I don't think I saw them flap their wings once. They would soar to the west a little bit then peel back and soar east, than turn around and do it again.  Pretty awesome.

Marymere Falls Hike

On our weekend we went on a hike (about a mile) and visited Marymere falls.  It is a nice short hike and great views at the end.

Hurricane Ridge

These photos are from our drive up to Hurricane Ridge, it was a beautiful drive and there was a lot of snow at the top.  Unfortunately for us it was really foggy at the top, and we couldn't see any other peaks.  During the summer months when it is clear you can see a lot.  The drive is 17 miles from Port Angeles and you start at sea level and go up to 5200 feet.  Pretty amazing.
